Sustainable

Bewaldetes Bergtal bei Davos unter dunklen Wolken im Herbst

Our Philosophy

“As a hotel in the heart of the Grisons mountains, we are committed to treating our resources and nature with respect. We stand for mindful consumption, sustainable production, and conscious energy use. With 5.66 kg of CO2 per overnight stay, we are close to the optimum, and these results of our efforts motivate us to continue being actively committed to nature and sustainability.”

Our commitment...

... Within our own four walls

At Hotel Grischa, we reduce emissions and conserve natural resources. When building the hotel, we relied on existing and regional materials.

Let there be light

Our sophisticated lighting concept not only contributes significantly to your well-being but also achieves electricity savings of up to 80-90% thanks to state-of-the-art LED technology.

Clear as day

Thanks to the thermal solar system on our roof and the associated heat pump, we save approximately 20,000 liters of heating oil per year. Around 60% of our heating requirements can be met this way.

A key for every lock

Through our modern key card system, all unnecessary power sources are switched off shortly after leaving the room.

Smart temperature
regulation

Via a central control system, we can reduce the room temperature in unoccupied rooms and public areas to a minimum, which brings additional energy savings.

From the region

Already in 2010, during the construction of the hotel, many materials from the region were used. For example, wood from old barns was reclaimed, and the granite comes from the Bernina region.

... In the Culinary World

Why wander far afield when good things are so close at hand? Value creation that stays in the region is important to us.

Locally rooted

In our restaurants, we work with the best regional products from local producers. Ingredients that do not grow in the region are sourced from sustainable production.

Great selection, short distances

Our comprehensive wine list with over 180 wines features only fine wines from Europe. This means that long transport routes are almost completely eliminated.

For your thirst

In our restaurants, you can enjoy the best Davos water in Grischa bottles, which are produced in Europe. Half of the sales proceeds are donated to good causes. In the rooms, the fresh mountain water is, of course, free of charge.

Food save

We make tasty stock from vegetable scraps or bones. The remaining organic waste is processed into biogas and reused as an energy resource. Bread waste is passed on to our farmers.

... In... Daily Operations

Because it is simply important and right. Our team and our guests work together for a better tomorrow.

Good for body and nature

For our shampoos, hand soaps, and body lotions with our own Grischa scent, we use large, refillable bottles. This allows us to reduce waste in the form of small plastic containers.

Together for the environment

For the sake of the environment, we only change towels and bed linen and clean rooms upon your request. Do you need a room cleaning for a two-night stay? If not, we save valuable resources such as water, energy, and cleaning agents.

Sorting is fun

In all rooms, you will find a green bag for recyclable materials. We sort everything that ends up in it. The bags were produced in cooperation with the Responsible Hotels of Switzerland.

... In dealing with our fellow human beings

For us, people and their needs are always at the center. We treat each other with mindfulness, respect, and friendship.

Focus on employees

The well-being of our employees is particularly close to our hearts. Therefore, we are committed to fair working conditions and just wages and create approximately 140 jobs in the region.

Inclusion is important to us

As an employer, we work closely with the La Capriola Foundation and train apprentices with support needs to become qualified professionals. In addition, a ski camp with Plusport Disabled Sports Switzerland takes place here every winter.

... In the diverse region

A place for culture and social affairs in the region. Where conversations take place, ideas arise, and grow into projects.

Uniting together

We make our premises available to associations for a small fee of CHF 50. It is important to us to support the vital volunteer work in Davos Klosters and to provide a space for social meetings and conversation.

Nature

The highest city in Europe, nestled in the beautiful mountain world. In just a few minutes, you are in the heart of nature.
